Is this guy valid or should i be wary??

I have been offered a job working as a friend of a friend in Dubai as a joiner on the palms jumera, He has spoken to me a couple of times over the phone and has said i will be working as a foreman for him and earn around £1500 a week. He asked me for the following info- passport number, address, national insurance number and full name as it appears on the passport and he says he has applied and a work permit has now been granted!(i haven't seen any evidence of this) I am excited and would love such an excellent opportunity to work in Dubai but cant help being cautious or does this sound right??
