Health check in advance possible?

My husband has been offered a job in Dubai. Is it possible to have a health check before deciding to take the job and move to Dubai? Have I understood correctly that health checks for residence visa are only taken when one is already living there? My husbands health is fine, and I am ok too, but I do have two tumours (genetic, non malignant). It would be really awful if I would have to leave Dubai after he already started the job and we would be already living in Dubai with two children and a dog...
