Dubai visa cancellation

i was working in a real estate company as IT then late last year we were informed that they are gonna closed on Dec.30 due to the economic recession and they told us that we are free to look for another job so i did an IT company hired me so i resigned and there i know that I am gonna pay 5000aed for i wasn't able to complete my 12 months employment.i can't afford 5000aed so i decided to go home and i will just wait for my visa from the the new company who hired me.
but my problem right now is my visa is not cancelled due to the holidays and im book this january 6 2008. is it okey for me to go home even if my visa is not cancelled with my previous employer? and I m gonna send it back to my friend then he will be the one to coordinate with the sponsor/previous employer?
please help me I am really confused.

Is there any barn for cancelling employment visa

I got employment visa from Abudhabi(Issued on 20.05.11)through a LLC Company.Due to some Personal problemm,I couldn't travel.But now I got new offer from Dubai.When new company tried to get employment visa for me,labour department refused their visa application for me,because my old visa is not yet cancelled.My questiians are:
1.Is there any barn if they cancel old visa,i did not sign any contract with that company(I did not enter in UAE also).
2.How many days will take to cancel the employment visa automatically from the date of issue,if i did not travel.
3.How can I check my visa status.
