Dubai Residency visa expiry

Question: I have less than a month left for my Dubai residency visa (23-dec-09) to expire. I have to travel to Bahrain for 3 days (3rd to 6th Dec). Am I legally allowd to do so?

I found out that the prior thing is to figure out what are the visa rules applied by counry you are visiting and Bahrain wont issue you visa on arrival if your GCC resident visa is not 6 months old and is valid for next 6 months as well.

Its complicated and frustrating! I'm wondering what do they achieve by doing so...
